On the recording, I believe it's the Xotic Robotalk. However, I don't know if he's had that one in his live-rig for a while and I think that's because you can emulate the pedal with the Line 6 FM4 Filter Mod. Now that he's replaced most of his board with the Line 6 M9, my assumption is that he can emulate the effect with that (unless they have stopped playing it live, which it's TMV, they always mix things up ;)

You can check Youtube for some videos of the Robotalk

Additionally, you can get a very similar effect with the Zvex Seek Wah

Not sure exactly what he used on the recording, but that effect can be found in Line 6 POD Farm/Gearbox modeling software and on PODxt/POD X3 devices as the 'Random S&H' modulation effect.

does anybody know which guitar he used to record frances the mute and playing live the france the mute tour?

I sure do! It's a Modded to sh$t Ibanez AX120 with a Symour duncan Jb. Jr. If your going to buy one i recommend just getting the ORM1 and chucking a Little '59 pup in it for those TMV tones.
It works for me :)

Super thanks i will check it out :)
And btw what is a '59 pup and were can i buy it (probably good bad question)

they are made by seymour duncan, you can get them in any guitar shop (or online store) that stocks SD pickups. good luck on your quest for a perfect guitar tone :)

Just saw a picture of Omar's actual pedal board. He has a Boss Super Shifter PS-5, which isn't listed anywhere. Just thought I'd point that out.

The Marshall head he used when he was in ATD-I before he got his Orange head was a Plexi.

He uses a Matchless DC-30, for studio, and sometimes stage.

Omar's using an Orange Rockerverb 100 (or maybe a 50) now. He was using them at The Big Day Out in perth on the first of january, and i've seen footage of him using them elsewhere. Might just be rentals though.

Does anyone know what amp and effects he used during the at the drive-in days? I think his amp was an Orange but Im not sure. His rig wasn't quite as big then. I remember him having a Squier Supersonic then as well.

yes, he does have his custom Ibanez ORM1. But you still can't buy the one he plays because he plays a white one. and you can only buy black ones. he also uses a symore duncan JB. jr pickup, not the ibanez stock pickup.

0 #2 Nathan 2008-09-01 10:07
Doesn't he have a signature ibanez guitar out now??

+1 #1 omg his stuff is so goodEnTeR ThE AcID ReD FoX 2008-07-04 19:26
just a few things first it that he now only plays (live) a WHITE orm 1. not black any more. its not a jtk2.
its good to see some one finally bothered to make a list with pictures. and i think he uses more effects on stage now because i can see his bigg muff there and he uses that all the time.
ps maybe you could have some info on his amps
he has four 140htc (i think) orange amps with the paint flaked off.
and two 4x12 orange cabinet.
