I didn't mean he uses an octave pedal on the chords haha, just one of the notes in the chords he plays is an octave of the base note. But by all means, I recommend getting the Digitech Whammy, it's absolutely great! :)
Thank you sir, you're so kind! I compared the guitar pro you sent with the video and it feels right! Now I HAVE to get an Octave pedal to test this out!
So the Final Riot Live CD has the guitars panned, huh? I'm gonna test this out too! Thanks for the tips.
I always wondered about that for ages, until my old band covered it one day. Like you I find it annoying how twelve year olds try to tab out songs like that thinking they are just powerchords.
He's playing what appears to be minor chords in bar-chord form. Simply put, bar chords (in Drop C# by the way, Paramore's main live tuning), with an octave and extra notes added.
What I also did to work out what he is playing, was get the live audio track from The Final Riot CD, split the track into two mono tracks and solo each one to hear only what Josh and/or Taylor are playing. (When the live tracks were mixed, each guitar was panned hard left and hard right, so to hear each of their parts all you need to do is to listen to one 'side'. You can easily do what I described in Audacity, if you are unsure just google it :D)
If you have Guitar Pro 5/6 I made up a quick file with the chords, and if you don't have GP there is just an exported PDF with them anyway.

Hope this helps!
That would be a Fender Tele '72 Custom.
In this vid you can see he also has a Fender Starcaster
The one he uses in the monster video and also live is a blacktop jaguar. Hope this helps :)
1- Black (he uses on Monster)
1- White (Custom)
1- 3 color sunburst (custom)
1- 3 color sunburst
Nope, the pic of the Orange amp was when they were in the studio at the start of 2009 recording Brand New Eyes, and Jon wasn't touring with the band at that time. Having said that, it was probably just a studio amp they used.
Yeah he has a divided by 13 amp. Which can be seen in the background of this video, and hes also listed on their website www.dividedby13.com/clients.html
I think that could be Jon Howard's (Paramore touring guitarist). Taylor and Josh both used Identical setups live consisting of 2 Marshall DSL100s and a Mesa rectifier cab.
Heres them playing in japan, and you can clearly see the Amps used www.youtube.com/.../ I presume if Taylor used an orange amp, it would be there.

Hey, I figured out what head it is, its an Orange OR50H, its a definite, the color scheme for the controls is unique. Lets add it in guys.
Which photo(?) are you referring to?
for example: guitar-->effects-->amp
thanks.

Nice find man, but do to the blurry nature of the photo, we can't figure out what Orange amp it is.

you get a good look at his white Jaguar, and a couple of glimpses of his pedal board (2:45 & around 2:58)

that isnt Taylor's. In that picture they were on the warped tour (2007), and if anyone knows how hectic warped is, they always have the next bands rig set up ready to go behind the band onstage to reduce set up time.
The bands amps and cabs were set up right behind the custom 'Riot' cabs made by Mesa.
That my friend is an ENGL straight cab. I can recognize the distinctive shiny lettering anywhere. Now all thats left to do is to find out who's it is.
the two brown ones might be two Boss Super Octaves - but i cant think of any songs he would use it in, (actually maybe the final riot version of let the flames begin) let alone any reason for having two of them.
ill try and search around for the red one.

Yeah, the ones on the right of the voodoo power dont have any markings on them. Im guessing the one on the top is some sort of A/B switcher. I have seen him use an Orange amp before, so he might switch between his DSL and that.
The long one on the bottom left im pretty sure is just a swtich board. Probably used with MIDI.
i thought it was taylor's rig. now i know that this is jeremy's rig. i wonder what are those effects in the front of voodoo lab and also in the left side side of the 900 pound violin (not the hyper fuzz).
Ahh i've been looking for that.
However, i don't think this is actually Taylor's board. This looks more like Jeremy's (Bass player)
This is what i can see:
900 Pound Violin pedal - DenTone electronics
Boss Hyper Fuzz
BIGSHOT Effects Loop Mixer - Radial Engineering
Boss Chromatic Tuner
Voodoo Lab Pedal Power
900 pound violin fuzz pedal

I'm not 100% sure but I think the big old green pedal next to the 900 pound is a Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi Guitar (green america) Pedal jedistar.com/.../...

tremolo picking and a lot of reverb... probably hall reverb? not sure exactly what he uses. maybe a chorus pedal in there somewhere too. he also seems to bend the note a bit every now and then.
I don't have any pictures but I just know from seeing live performances and because I've been a fan of the band a long time. Fender just posted a blog on their website about the guitars - Josh had two Teles made for him, Taylor two Jazzmasters, and Jeremy two completely custom basses - all made by Dennis Galuszka.
do you have any pictures of the amps?
how do you know who made the guitars?

i dont think it is. in that picture they were on the warped tour, and if anyone knows how hectic warped is, they always have the next bands rig set up ready to go behind the band onstage to reduce set up time.
