The '666' setting used buy many Peavey 5150/6505 players is more of a reference EQ and gain setting rather than the be all and end all. It's used so that if sound checks are behind schedule they can get a good tone straight up (according to Corey from Trivium and The guitarist from The Red Chord). Some tweak but many just stick to it :)

Cory from trivium supposably runs his settings on 666 i kinda doubt theres that many people running there 5150/6505s on 666.
Personally im a tweaker wherever i am i awlays adjust my eq for where i am.
Also i play a mesa recto not a smeavy :o

Exactly. You have it right there - all set to 6. I have my amp set to the same :-)

What do they mean by 666 settings? I would guess that the bass, mid, and treb were all set to 6.
