Ian Hill is a founding member and bassist for the Birmingham-based heavy metal band, Judas Priest.

Let's take a look at some of the gear and equipment that Ian has been seen using in his bass rig.

Bass Guitars
- Spector NS2 4-string basses
- Spector NS5 5-string bass

Spector NS-5XL USA 5-String Bass Black Cherry Gold Hardware


- Hamer 5-string bass
- Note: Spector Ian Hill signature bass guitar is based on Hill's mid 80's NS-2

Ian has also been seen using these basses in the past:
- late-Sixties or ’72  Fender Jazz Bass (sunburst)

Pickups
- The EMG website says Ian has used EMG 40CS and 40DC bass pickups

- Trace Elliot 122HSMX combo with 2X10
- Marshall 2X15 cabinet
- SWR SM-900 amps and Megoliath cab





Strings and More
- DR High-Beam bass strings gauges .055–.115 and .050–.135
- Ian has used both his fingers and more recently picks
