Gary Holt is the guitar player and original member of the thrash metal band Exodus.

I saw some recent pics of exodus live...
Gary was using a HBE doomsday device , medicine bawl wah , phaser , delay and boss octaver...
schecter guitar and seems to be they use different amp on stage...

gary is the man.his tb-5 and peavey is his sound period.he uses marshall cabs. not heads.he has upgraded to a jsx joe satch.head.everyone rocks

:woohoo: One thing you all frogt to mention is the most important part. His Pick ups!!! He uses a Seymour Duncan Custom TB-5 in the bridge, I dont know whats in the neck. His Vixen V's are all Mahogany neck thru with ebony frettboard. VERY IMPORTANT. I know that he recorded the last album with the Peavy XXX ( I HATE that amp! Im a Mrashall TSL 2000 user).
I am currently experimenting the TB-5 pick up and it sounds killer, even better through a Marshall than a Peavey!!!

Are you sure they were using Mesa? The XXX looks very similar to a mesa. Check out this link rig-talk.com/.../...

Those pics are from May 2009 - one month newer from when you played with Exodus, and they show that Gary is using the XXX as he has been for quite some time.

My band was honored to have had the opportunity to open for Exodus in April of 09, and Gary and Lee both were using Mesa/Boogie amplifiers. I backlined my gear against numerous stacks of theirs. I'm not sure which models they were using, but I know they were playing Mesa amps on the most recent tour.

Wondering what Gary Holt plays is the reason I found this page. I've always wanted to know what amp he uses. He has the best metal tone I've ever heard.
