I believe in studio pat was using a chrome prototype morley wah pedal, and he also uses sometimes during recording a diezel herbert head.

I think the chrome Morley would've been an old school tel-ray fuzz wah or something.

Quoting transducer:
they frogot to mention that o'brien uses BC Rich guitars

Actually if you scroll to the top above the picture of his custom Ran guitar, you will notice that it says "B.C Rich custom Flying V guitars with EMG pickups"

the new album "Torture" isn't even out yet(March 13th, 2012, if I remember correctly), so I doubt he's used it live yet, or even if he will... they used the Mark V and the Triple Rectifier for recording the album(as shown in the new 'making of' video available from Metal Blade on their youtube channel).

did anyone notice the Mesa Boogie Dual rectifier head on top of the stack in the left of the picture? Every time I have seen them live, they used the Dual rec.

They switch from Bb to Eb for the Chris barnes stuff but don;t switch guitars.Surely they must use some sort of pitjcshifter for that because they still play all the riffson the bottom strings??

In Bb the A string is at Eb, so they could just be riffing on the A string.

I saw them back in 2000 and the Crate GX-130c was still in the rig. The guitar tech told me it was just a back up and the main amp was a Marshall rack mount. Barrett and O'Brien both used the GX-130c early on. Awesome amp, with good built in distortion and you could get them cheap.

This website is correct as far as gear. Pat doesn't use a Boss noise gate because it sucks his tone and doesn't use a marshall w/Black Label Society Electro-Voice speakers it's actually a mesa w/ Black Label Society Electro-Voice speakers. He uses the Robert Keeley Boss MT-2 to push his distortion "over the edge", it stays on all the time. A far as cabs he owns 2 mesa's one w/ v-30's and one w/Black Label Society Electro-Voice speakers. Guitars (the ones I've seen, He own 6 B.C. Rich custom shop V's ones is a 7 String, he also has a U.S.A. Jackson king V and a Ran guitars custom V and One of the first V's he owned, a Gibson flying v w/ a custom pick guard (single bridge pickup and volume). Stage set up is very simple, In Pat's opinion less is more.
Amps: Mesa dual rectifiers
Pedals: Boss MT-2 (Robert Keeley mod), Crybaby wah, Boss octaver and a ISP Decimator.
Cabs: Mesa w/ v-30's and /EV

ive talked to pat several times about the gear that he uses. on stage he uses a mesa boogie triple rectifier and 4x12 mesa cabinets. from them he uses and only uses the boss mt2 (robert keeley mod) to shape the mesa's tone. the engl head was used to record the leads on evisceration plague, and is owned by erik rutan of hate eternal. as far as strings and picks go he uses jim dunlop 13-56 strings, and jim dunlop nylon .88mm picks. levys guitar straps. emg 81 pick up. Also he hasnt used the 7 string model since he first joined the band, and now uses b.c. rich, jr v custom shops, tuned down to Bb.

the Engl amp head was used just for the leads on the "Evisceration Plague" CD. I believe the head belongs to Eric Rutan(Hate Eternal), owner of Mana Recording Studios, where the last 2 CDs have been recorded(also produced by Rutan). All rhythms were done using Pat's triple rectifier.

I was close to the the stage were Pat was preforming and I also saw him using Dunlop Crybaby Original and he was using a Mesa Dual Rectifier, I never heard of Cannibal Corpse using Crate but not expensive overrated ENGLs.

I've only seen Pat use Mesa amps, but I have seen him use Crate cabs. Jack Owen was the main Crate guy in Cannibal Corpse. Back in the day, alot of death metallers used the Crate GX-130c amp head, which is virtually identical internally to the much revered Ampeg VH140C. The first 4 CC albums were mostly done with those Crate heads. Later Jack went to the Digitech 2101 preamp, but always used Crate cabs. Most people associate Crate with cheap practice amps, but that wasn't always the case.
