Mick Thomson is one of the guitar players for the nine-piece band Slipknot. Thomson is known as member #7 in the band.
Up until 2008 Mick has used EMG Active Pickups (81, 85) but as of 2008 he began using Seymour Duncan Blackout Active Humbuckers.

I must say, the blood red finish looks more bada** on the Glaive than on the RG.
he says he uses D Addario strings 11-58 .
That is actualy an ibanez glaive model, new for 2011, but with his signature specs.

if you've ever seen a 58...man that is thick!!!! I'm almost thinking he might drop out the 58 and keep the 48...could I be wrong? seems to me the guitar would have a lot of problems with staying in tune with that high of guage on the top string.
