Above is a picture of tim using what looks like a Blackstart Series one 100 watt. Its the only Blackstar head i could find with a single row of knobs and a front you can see through.

He only used first act guitars on the UK tour (sheena and a first act baritone) except for a Fender Jag baritone he used for Illuminator. He did afterwards when talking to me state if he could have a free non stop supply and play any guitar he would always go with the Gibson SG hands down.

Tim always has a TS9 on his board.
He has a new board this year as with the new album he needs alot more delay options so he is now using a Rack-mounted Line 6 Echo Pro with a stompbox controller.
He was also using a Blackstar 100 watt head on the Uk tour.

Tim used to uses the rocker30 (not on the european tour though) Most of his sound comes from the JCM though.

James i think- used an AD30
But he uses a JMP now most of the time.

 he doesn't have the neck pickup "ripped out" at least not anymore. He uses an SD JB in the bridge obviously and an SD Jazz in the neck. a little while ago Tim has been getting really aware of his tone, and no self respecting tone guy is going to "rip out" his neck pickup. He even uses it on some of the soft clean rhythm parts.

Here is a photo of Tims 2009 (early 2010- Koko show) pedal board. I got a look at the end of the show and looked high and low and found a photo and this is definitely it!!
He no longer uses his orange Rocker 30 and uses a marshall Plexi as his second amp.
He also likes electro harmonix pedals but doesnt have any on his board!?
On lost in the sound there is a song he uses a tele, i think it was a standard. Cannot remember the song though. His back up guitar for when his SG breaks is a Les Paul Classic.

For reference James' is similar (James Smith).
James has a DL6 instead of the live pod and still uses an Ernie Ball Volume Jr.

I went to the underoath show at the masquerade last november...and if i'm not mistaken...tim played 2 different SG's and a Telecaster.

one of the SG's looked to be a natural/worn borwn finish with P90-ish pickups...not sure but i think i recall it being those. And of course his commonly used wine red one that's modded out the butt haha

I found a video that's has some pretty neat info about his rig. All the pedals are correct i think, but this video is him walking through his rig and explaining amps etc. really awesome

I don't think Tim used Rocker 30 from Orange. I read somewhere that he played an Orange AD140TC which saldy is out of production now.

Hi again, I went to the Douglasville show last night, and there were no barriers so I took some video of both Tim and James' pedal boards.

For time, all he had last night was the Line 6 x3 live, Boss NS2, Boss TU-2 Chromatic tuner, and the Ibanez tube screamer. Surprisingly, James had more pedals that Tim. I wouldn't mind getting in contact with someone to work on a profile for James Smith!

I am almost certain that the Ibanez TS808 they use is one of Robert Keeleys modded pedals. I would highly recomend getting one. You can buy them new from him already modded or send yours in for him to mod. They are EXCELLENT pedals! he mods alot more models too! happy playing! :-)

tim does use an e-bow on certain ambient parts live, notably on the bridge to writing on the walls in conjunction with a little reverse delay

and he rips out the neck pickup and toggle and controls for it leaving only bridge volume knob

he also uses at least one gibson les paul classic in sunburst

his first act is a custom silverburst sheena

almost all sounds off new record where played through a jcm800 for him and jmp for james, through a ibanez ts808 (not sure if original) an ibanez analog delay (the pink one) and a memory man. Then those where run to a mesa 4x12 for recording more sterile sounds and a marshall 1960ax w/ celestion greenbacks for more dirty or feedback sounds

tim said that almost all if not all guitars were jame's gibson les paul classic

Hey!
so Tim, uses a Crybaby wah...
and for the record his SG is heavily modified. He took out the neck pickup, and it's controls and the bridge's tone control. along with the selector.

Hey, thanx for the information on McTagues gear. I think you're missing a few things though. I believe he uses a marshall cab in addition to the orange cab and a few other things. Can you double check your research and update the equipment list? Thanx.

Since when does Tim use an e-bow? On the "Define the Great Line" DVD, it talks about using a real bow, and it even shows Tim playing with it! I don't think Tim ever uses an e-bow. I may be wrong. And I like how you guys update this stuff! I came here to request Josh Farro's equiptment, but you updated it since last time I checked!
