Is there anybody outthere that believes that the No Rest For The Wicked sound is the best Zakk Wylde sound ever???? Zakk uses the Metaltronics in this record for sure!!!!!

+1 He used the Metaltronix M-1000 heads and 3 Lee Jackson Perfect Connection GP-1000 preamps with a single Perfect Connection SP-1000 power amp. Both setups used the Metaltronix 4x12 cabs. And according to Lee Jackson himself, Zakk also used a Aphex Aural Exciter with the GP-1000 to color his tone a bit by adding a "huge bottom end".

He switched to 6550-loaded JCM800's after the No Rest for the Wicked Tour.

Zakk's signature Rotovibe pedal. From what I've seen in recent interviews, he also has a MXR Carbon Copy and also a Flanger, so those might be the next Zakk signature pedals.

Read the year on that. It might have updated graphics and such, but it's based on his '88 rig with Ozzy when he first started out.

I just saw an interview Zakk did with dunlop, hes using his bererker overdrive, custom wah pedal, black label chorus, his wylde phase, and something new for zakk, an MXR carbon copy delay. i didnt beleive it at first, but yes, zakk is using this pedal, seems like everyone whos tried it out has added it to their board, must be a great pedal.

Alright, anything that has Zakk's name on it: he uses. Pedals, pickups, strings, guitars (Yes, including the Epiphones), etc., etc. Those pictures are actually quite old. The only way you can keep up with Zakk's current rig is by getting the chance to go to a BLS show and getting to see his gear or stalk the Internet for videos.

Why is there his signature wah in his equipment if he doesn't use it and in all of his photos there is only the classic cry baby??? I hate marketing tricks(dunlop's) so please make a notice next to it that he doesnt use it

I think that picture was taken before his signature wah pedal was released.
he's using his own wah since dunlop releases his wah pedal.

I believe his old JCM800's from the late 80's/early 90's were modded by Lee Jackson, I CAN be wrong.

He also used Lee Jackson Metaltronix amps in the late 80's. Check out videos of them playing live at Moscow in 1989.

For his last UK gig this year at High Voltage Fest 2010 he was using the new Marshall stacks they made for him this year with his 2203ZW signature heads, pretty sure it was a total of 24 Marshall cabs

There's a great article (link below) about his latest BLS album and it covers gear, mentions his new MXR/Dunlop BLS Chorus pedal and that on his album he's using the 800's and for cleans his Roland
JC's, no mention of 5150's at all.

it's a good read

from what i have seen of the posted pics, any pictures that show a non-sig wah have the boss overdrive pedal with them too, which means that the pictures are old. (i.e. Wah was not out yet)

at 4:03 in the following link you can see his pedalboard. Not sure on the exact date but it does show the custom deans and gibsons which means it is relatively recent(i believe). guitarheroesgear.com/.../Zakk%20Wylde

The word is that he uses 5150 heads, and puts the marshalls on stage for show because of the endorsement deal.

Oh yeah, he also uses Alvarez Yairi acoustics (see Boozed, Broozed, and Broken Bones DVD Special Features) and a Gibson Dove Acoustic. When I saw him a couple of years ago at the House of Blues in Hollywood, he was playing a Gibson Chet Atkins (like Dave Matthews used) through a Roland Jazz Chorus. And I when I shook his hand after the show I also noticed he has the biggest f$!@ing hands I've ever seen, so maybe you ought to include that!

+1 #2 Ryan 2009-04-24 07:08
Zakk also uses a Les Paul Special (I don't know of what vintage) in the studio quite a bit. You can hear it on a lot of the cleaner solos and things on 1919 Eternal and Hangover Music Volume VI
