Kurt was known to use Dean Markley strings, gauge .10-.52.

As well as using the DS-1 Kurt also used the DS-2, which in the picture above it
looks more like the DS-2 (Turbo Distortion) due to it having smaller and more
controls, the pedal was mainly used on the Nevermind tour and on Unplugged in
New York

Also Kurt used a Fender Jag-Stang which the Fender Custom Shop made
for him in the colours Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red (Sonic Blue was the only colour
Kurt played) it was took along on the In Utero tour but was seldom
played.

distortion during In Utero tour.

Kurt also used Univox'es.In bleach tour he used DS-1 then at 1990 he bought a
Small Clone then on Nevermind Kurt used DS-1,Small Clone and for recording of
Lithium he used Electro Harmonix Big Muff.On the Nevermind tour Kurt had DS-1
and the Small Clone.For the tour of In utero Kurt used : Tech 21 Sansamp,Boss
DS-2,Small Clone and Polychorus.He had DOD Grunge pedal but thrown it to the

in the song lithium, in the studio he used a electro harmonix big muff. I'm not
sure if he used it live though.
