Matt Hoopes is the lead guitarist (and backing vocals) of Relient K, a Christian rock band that was formed in 1998. Besides playing for Relient K, Hoopes has also done backup vocals for certain Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes songs, and has been a guest guitarist at concerts for the band My Red Hot Nightmare.

Nathan  - Close, but missing a few things.   |2010-01-05 03:03:58 As said before, he also has a wine red Gibson LP Custom. However, its a 70s Custom with mini-humbuckers instead of the standard full-size ones we see on all LPs today that don't have P-90s. The white Tele isn't his only one either. He has a black Tele with maple fretboard that has either a Seymour-Duncan Mini-Jazzbucker or Mini-'59 installed in the bridge position. This was primarily used before MMHMM, but he and Schneck still use it live occationally. He also has a mid/late 70s Fender Telecaster Deluxe. You know, the Teles with dual humbuckers and a Les Paul-style control layout. As far as I know he just recently started playing this, probably not too long before they recorded "Forget and Not Slow Down." As for the sunburst LP mentioned before, I'm not sure if that guitar is his or Schneck's. They seem to trade/borrow each others guitars quite frequently, both live and in videos, because Jon uses the same LP in the Be My Escape video. Reply 0   0

Anonymous  - AWESOME!!!!!   |2009-06-02 18:57:44 Matt is one of my fav guitarist's. I have seen some of thier music vids and this is right on and some of their live vids. Accept for two things he also has a Red Gibson LP. If you look at Be My Escape or Must Have Done Something Right, and he also has a Sunburst Gibson LP if you look at Who I Am Hates Who Ive Been its the same thing lol.
