josh has made a few changes to his pedalboard this year it now goes

peterson strobostomp2 pedal tuner
2x boss DD-20 giga delay
electro harmonix nano holy grail
digitech whammy
boss ls2 line
selector
and amp footswitch
Mkells   |2010-08-03 21:58:24
From watching "The Final Riot!" I noticed all of the above pedals but also a Digitech digital reverb and what looks like a Route 66 American Overdrive.
luke  - dd-20   |2010-07-17 00:15:40

Hey does anyone know if Josh's black 72 Tele is a mexican-made one? If so, are the humbuckers the stock Wide-Range or are they something else?
Sean   |2010-07-28 12:38:04
Yes it is MIM and they are stock wide range pickups.
GIACOMO   |2010-06-22 13:32:13
hello, can you tell me what the wood is golden telecaster josh ...
Sean   |2010-06-22 17:51:21
The gold finish is just a paint job. If you are asking which wood the body of the guitar is made of it is probably alder.

Where is the 900 Pound Violin? I think Taylor uses it.

link.

Luiz  - Yes, Josh is using two DD-20   |2010-06-21 15:04:51
i'm not sure, but i think he is using the two dd-20 in decode, one of them with the configuration for the intro, and the other with the configuration for the chorus and the solo. i don't know why does
he need two dd-20 for this, i think one dd-20 and one other dd-3 or dd-7 would be enough, but it's ok
Luiz  - Josh's amp   |2010-06-02 16:27:03
The Josh's amplificator is not a Marshall JCM 800, its a Marshal JCM 2000 DUAL SUPER LEAD
Daniel   |2010-06-03 09:18:42
I believe he used the 800s in the studio. He uses the 2000 live though. Just thought I should clear that up for you. (Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
Luiz   |2010-06-03 15:52:00
If you listen ''That's What You Get Instrumetal'' you can see that the distortion is from the JCM 2000, cause is very notable the Dual Super Lead of the JCM 2000

They are Jazzmasters, with a few customizations, one mainly being the jack (on the bottom rather than next to the knobs) and the bridge.

thank you Andrew C. I was looking everywhere, and I thought it was a telecaster but with the body of a jaguar :S

I mean, I thought it was like a telecaster deluxe, like josh
Sean   |2010-05-04 22:42:52
It isn't a Tele Thinline, it's a Custom Tele Deluxe with a gold top finish and an f-hole. Also, it doesn't have P-90 pickups, they are standard Fender wide-range humbuckers.

if you've seen the final riot dvd in 40 days riot when their practicing they show his pedal board but people mistake it for joshs they have the same amp heads. pedal;digitech whammy, boss dd 20 giga
delay, marshall foot switch, boss tu2, digi tech doctor q a zvex distortion,he may also use a line 6 vibzilla but it may be a digitech digital reverb ,I don't know the rest i can't tell.
guitars;fender 72 telecaster thin line, fender jaguar hh special and regular ps josh custom guitar is a telecaster deluxe with gold top paint it has the same pickups it just has a les paul pickup on
it he uses the tele deluxe pickup as a bridge pickup he put a f hole in it ps again it's not one of the thin lines
Kenny  - Taylor York   |2010-02-17 22:10:24
ok... I have looked and searched forever!!! I've fallen in love with the guitar York used mostly on the final riot tour and I neeeed to know what in the world it is!!! please help me, I don't know
much about guitars yet other than knowing how to play them.
here are some pictures of it... it's easy to find them if you add final riot tour to his name- he mostly plays this during those shows.

Thanks Uberproaudio.com for awesome job with this website, it has helped me tremendously to learn about tone and what is best. I was wondering if you know the guitar taylor york uses, it looks very
similar to the Squier Jagmaster, but its not, i been trying to find this model before noticing york has it, can you please help me, i think its rare and im not sure if is fender, i've heard its
mexican mader, which i seeing in two mexican bands, please help me thanks for everything for this website, keep it up
doug s  - that guitar   |2009-12-31 01:14:24
okay from what ive seen the guitar he uses is a jagmaster, probably with different pickups, ive never seen any other guitar thats like that with the fixed bridge, are you sure its not?
Alan   |2010-01-05 06:14:52
It is definitely a Fender, based on the fact that the squier Jagmaster has it's pickup selector at the bottom of the guitar, and the fender (the one york plays) is located at the top. I was actually
looking into getting a guitar like that, but I couldn't find it anywhere. He has one with standard pickups, but then he also has one with soap boxes. I'm not sure if it's custom made or if they made
one like that, but I believe he used it first when "Brand New Eyes" Came out. He has also been playing with a fender telecaster deluxe thinline guitar, which is the same as the deluxe josh
plays, except it has an f-hole. And then he also plays a les paul. I got this from another forum, which was posted in march of '09:
Boss Tu-2 tuner, Electro Harmonics - doctor q, Boss Gigadelay,
Digitech whammy, His amps are still either Marshall jcm 2000 (I think he prefers this one) or a Mesa Boogie dual rectifier. and a picture
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m294/j_m_s/TaylorYorkBoardLP.jpg
Andrew C   |2010-01-09 23:27:57
Here are some pics of that guitar. Looks like a Fender headstock, the squier version looks a bit different. I'd say a custom from
Fender.

Ok few questions if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

In his black tele deluxe is it standard pickups?

How does he change delay times for different songs? are they stored on the dd-20?

and.. the distortion?

A Marshall DSL 100.

That epiphone GoldTop is a Epiphone Elitist. Its a High End guitar, same quality as a gibson.

do you actually know it for a fact or is that just your assumption?

its such a punchy sound..

and does anyone know which amp head he used for their 'Final RIOT!' live dvd?

Alan   |2010-01-19 05:45:10
I just checked the D'Addario website, and I guess Josh just started using D'Addario strings in 2009...according to the site. He uses 10-46
Gauge

Rico   |2009-10-28 22:23:17
His custom guitar does not have two humbucker sized p90s. The bridge pickup is a full on humbucker and I imagine the neck one is a Phat Cat or equivalent.

He's also done this to either his old 72
Tele reissue or a new one (humbucker and p90 combo). That guitar also now has a regular fender neck instead of the big strat headstock. You can see it in live videos for Brick by Boring Brick.

I'm
afraid there's no pics i can find of this so to see it you'll just have to watch videos and be very observent.

paramore,rock on uberproaudio
dem466   |2009-09-26 14:43:27
it was custom made by fender for him.

its basically a tele thinline, with P-90 pickups and only partially hollowed out, with a sparkly gold-top finish.
Roy   |2009-09-25 02:37:56
Is this all the pedals he have? Cos I heard chorus in some of their songs... Like decode and when it rains... Please correct me if I am wrong...
Rico   |2009-12-30 20:55:27
I can't remember where I saw it but there is a picture of his pedal board that has an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Nano Reverb on it, which has a Flerb switch on it. Its a combination of Flanger and
Reverb and it sounds kind of like chorus but, its not.

If someone knows the picture I'm talking about maybe they'll put it up.
dem466   |2009-09-21 11:58:53
look at this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mODbvy4uBUA

is he using a squire or what? im pretty sure thats his 72' telecaster, but i think he swapped necks with his new thinline.
Alan   |2009-11-27 00:27:36
It is definitely a fender guitar, just with a different, fender neck. I saw them live, and that was the first thing I looked at, was the guitars they were using. Definitely a Fender neck.

Also, in
TWYG video, it seems to be a fender, because on the squier (which I have), the pickup selector knob is black, where as on the fenders it's white. You can also see in the video the neck says fender,
and not squier.
dem466   |2010-05-14 11:32:13
im pretty sure he swapped the neck of his custom thinline with one on a tele deluxe.. that would make sense, since his custom thinline has a '72 neck, and his '72 has a thinline neck
ish   |2009-09-11 04:52:17

Clayton   |2009-09-03 10:31:36
It's not a Custom actually. It's a deluxe. So don't criticise someone if you're clearly wrong yourself.
Anonymous   |2009-08-24 20:30:51
He used Marshall JCM 2000 INSTEAD OF THE JTM 45
Anonymous   |2009-07-27 07:57:51
He did not use a squier i was a Fender '72 Telecaster custom, see properly.
devin  - a few things...   |2009-07-16 12:04:51
The Les Paul Gold Top you were referring to is actually an Epiphone not a
Gibson,
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=11730869&albumID=1830812&imageID=5380259#a=1830812&i=5380343

As Far as Gibsons, He uses a Les Paul Custom also.

The
effects he uses in the studio weren't actually on his board but now there are five other effects added. In the image, his volume pedal is off to the
side.
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m294/j_m_s/JoshFarroPedalboard.png?t=1247760505

The teles! Ah, where to begin?!? The "gold top" one is a Fender Tele Thinline Custom with a gold
sparkle finish and P-90 pickups. The telecaster in the new song video, is a '52 American Vintage Series Tele.

I think it's pretty cool that someone stated that Josh used a '62 Ice Blue Metallic
Fender Jaguar on the "crushcrushcrush" video, just to throw this out there he used a Squier Tele Custom in the "That's What You Get" vid.

I've covered guitars and effects so far and
the last topic i have to hit before ending this is amps. He still uses the JCM2000 and the Dual Rectifier amp heads. He uses Mesa/Boogie Custom-made Cabs, BUT! he also uses a Marshall 1960A Angled
Cab.

Alright, that pretty much covers it!
Alan   |2009-07-16 22:10:37
Wow, you're pretty much amazing! Thanks for all the information.

Now, I was about to question the validity of your statement in regards to Josh using the Squire Tele Deluxe in the "That's What
You Get" video, but then I looked at it, and the headstock on the guitar in that video is definitely the smaller one of the Squire model.

And don't forget about his old Fender Telecaster (the
Standard model, with a sunburst color). I believe in the song "Where the Lines Overlap", the "new" guitarist, Taylor, uses it live.
rockdude  - DD-20 Delay   |2009-07-07 16:22:23
