Trey is using both his Mesa Boogie and his Fender Deluxe.. the deluxe is going through the Bruno 4x12 and the actual deluxe is behind it hiding. and then he's got the boogie running through the old
style 2X12 cab. I believe he switches between the two amps for different songs depending on which type of tone he is going for.

Trey usually uses two Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamers. Both are modified by Analogman with the Silver modification. Here is a great page on Analogman's site that gives great detail in what Trey has used
over the years:
http://www.analogman.com/phish.htm

I'm looking forward to buying one of these pedals as well. Good luck to everyone in pursuing Trey's great tone!

thanks very much for the postings...as a beginner whose primary influence is trey, I def appreciate the informed observations...anyone have a schematic of his rig? know exactly how he customizes his
tube screamer? why the switch to boogies? I thought that was more of a heavier sound?
Josh  - mod for tube screamers   |2009-08-15 22:00:16
hey brotha! check out analog man for the details, you can also buy one (or two) for $165 i think.
peace
