He uses maton acoustic guitars, mainly the mini models
Kris  - Melody Maker   |2010-05-18 09:17:11
I have also seen him play what looks to be a red Gibson melody maker.
Shayne  - 6 String Banjo   |2009-02-11 19:02:30
Keith also plays a 6 string banjo on some of his tracks. The model he uses is the B-6 made by the Deering Banjo Co. He isn't listed under artist endorsements but if you go to the online store/prices
section and select banjos...then select the B-6 model they say it's the model he uses. Hope this helps any other guitar players wanting the banjo sound without the learning curve.

Keith is very fussy about his guitar tone and he constantly changing his gear.
After he got done using Plexi's and Marchless he went to Bad Cat Heads and Cabs as well as a few combos.
Shortly after
that, after playing with Sheryl Crow's guitarist rig he switched to 65 amps. Most likely he was using the Royal Albert with a couple of four twelve cabs.
THEN, he switched to two Hiwatt Custom 50's
with Hiwatt cabs. I think he prefers to have two 50 watt, or near, instead of one 100 watt heads.
Word on the street is he is changing his cabs soon to custom built, but not sure if he is sticking
with the Hiwatt heads.
