I wish Joe would have chosen the Vintage Modern like Paul Gilbert, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Yngwie Malmsteen, (doesn't use it in his main setup but praises it as the best Marshall in a very long time) Joe Bonamassa, and many others. His tone is fantastic regardless but the Vintage Modern wins hands [censored]ing down, such an organic pure tone especially with the matching cab.

+1 #9 overdrive, and still using JSX ampskaleb 2010-06-24 11:10
I recently went to a 2010 Chickenfoot show and saw Joe still using the PEavy JSX amps, also, for the longest time Joe used the Boss SD-1 overdrive, but now he is using a new Vox signature ICE-9 overdrive, soon to be released

He used a Mesa Mark 2 c+ once during the rubina album or it was some album back in the early 90s, and he used a BK Butler Real Tube Overdrive once.

Saw Joe about 12-15 years ago, in an opera theater, and he ahd at the time a very simple set-up: BUT MAN...What he got out of it! Just a Marshal halfstack, about 3-4 pedals, and a wha; could not see anyother stuff. Was just a: get-to-the-point, set-up. But, seeing what he has now, well Joe are you not overdoing it abit?? Losing Purity, perhaps, alas...to say?? But, you still play great.
