The "yai Yai" sound is from the eventide harmonizer rack unit, not the wah pedal.

Hi guys. Vai's tone has changed a lot with his changing gear. According to an article in Guitar Player, May, 1988, here's Vai's setup for the Skyscraper album and tour:

Tom Anderson custom guitar
Jem 77 with stock Dimarzio DP151 PAF Pro pickups (the PAF pro is an important
distinguishing factor between 80's and post-80's Vai)

So, following the signal chain:
Marshall 100 watt head (unspecified), modified by Jose Arrendondo.
Out to Bob Bradshaw rack, featuring:
Boss SD1 Super Overdrive, Roland sde 3000, Yamaha 1500 delay, Ibanez Reverb 1000, Eventide H3000 Harmonizer, Eventide 2016, TC Electronics Stereo Chorus, Yamaha SPX90, Drawmer Noise Gate then into a Carvan power amp (unsecified) with Marshall cabinets featuring 30 watt Celestion speakers.
Note that some of the effects were found in a book "Steve Vai Guitar
Extravaganza" (1989, Warner Bros Publications). In that book, Vai contradicts his article, because he says he used Yamaha power amps, and 50 watt celestions. I have gone with the Guitar World article. Lastly, Vai also used a BC Rich 12 String electric guitar for some parts.

if we´re talking about the same wah, it´s a morley bad horsie wah(i think there´s a new version)which is the seteve´s signature wah, and in the song named yai yai you can listen to it, it really sounds like a human!!!!!!

i forgot to mention that his board my be opening up to a new pedal soon, the Ibanez Steve Vai signature "Jemini" distortion pedal. if i were in his shoes, and seeing as how the pedal was custom made to sound like (and replace?) his TS9DX and DS-1, he may take the TS9DX and DS-1 off the board to make room for the Jemini (or he might keep them on there).

i have a great picture of steve and his gear. his ds-1 is analog man modded, the tubescreamer is a modded (keeley i believe) TS-9 DX Turbo Tubescreamer. his phaser is the EVH signature MXR phase 90. and in my picture, there appears to be a dunlop (looks like a crybaby) pedal next to his foot, but i cant tell for sure. he also uses a peterson strobostomp tuner. if asked, i will reply with an image of the picture.
