This guy is, of course, a member of the Derek Trucks band, but also a member of the Allman Brothers Band, the legendary southern rock group. So I figured it'd be cool to research him.
An interesting thing I found about him is this:
"Trucks avoids processing and effects, preferring to get the purest tone possible by connecting his guitar directly to his amplifier. He modifies his tone with the controls on the guitar."
